You hire a broker to help you navigate through the process of buying a house.  You hire a lawyer to help guide you through dealing with insurance claims.  You hire a wedding planner to help plan and organize your wedding.  Why would you not want an advocate to help you navigate through one of the most amazing, but stressful, experiences of your life?

 

 

A doula is a highly trained non-medical birth professional.  Her job is to provide you with information and advice so that you can make informed decisions throughout the birth process.  In addition, a lot of expectant parents can feel rushed and bullied by medical staff into making decisions that may not be right for their family.  A doula can offer support by being a buffer between you and medical staff and help you to take a breath so you can make the right decisions for you.
